We just got one, but it bites, and is really vicious. How do I stop that? How do I let it know that I won't hurt it?

Sometimes you just have to be really patient with them. One trick I've learned is to take a towel and once you get it out of it's cage, wrap it up in that. With only it's head sticking out. This can make it so that it's not so frightened of you and just talk to it calmly and pet it's head. If it does bite you, just tell it "No," but don't shout at it. Another trick I've learned is to lure it with food. Like take the food dish out of it's cage and have it follow you. That's how I tamed my parakeet.
